Hello Granite Hills Homeowners!

With our annual AGM being in August I wanted to give you an update before then regarding the paving of 433.

Recently a formal ITB (Invitation to Bid) was put out by Manitoba Transportation and Infastructure to asphalt the surface of 433 to Cape Coppermine development.

The ITB can be viewed at this link

Originally the approved plans included an active transportation lane. Subsequent to this MTI ran into some unforeseen issues which could have delayed the project significantly and as a result they asked council to vote on another plan so they could proceed as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, the new plan does not include the active transportation lane. The AT was an exciting unexpected addition and while disappointing, please keep in mind our main goal of having the road paved.

The new plan will follow the road exactly.

You may have heard that construction was going to begin at the end of 433. This was due to some land issues at the beginning of 433. Because the road is now following the existing road, this is no longer an issue and construction will begin at the start of 433.

As you can see the ITB is asking for bids to Cape Coppermine development. This means Clubhouse Road. As PR 433 ends at Osprey I have confirmed that the bid to Clubhouse will essentially have two sections to it.

1) Cost to Osprey

2) Cost from Osprey to Clubhouse Rd

Council is in discussion with their legal department on how and who will be involved in covering the cost of the second option. I expect an update by our AGM in regards to that.

The ITB ends on July 2 and construction, in some way, is expected to begin this year. There is a lot of work to be done and this job will take a long time to complete. The ITB will have projected completion dates on it.

Thank you for visiting our website and please consider attending our AGM on August 30th in the Granite Hills Clubhouse Tournament Room.
